Welcome to Yoga-Roads. I hope you find what you are looking for here. If you don’t already have a regular yoga practice here is brief explanation:

Yoga helps us to calm the mind and strengthen the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, immune and nervous systems. We do this by connecting with and focusing on the breath while moving in and out of different postures and flows. We become more aware of what is happening in the present moment while letting go of tensions and distractions of the mind. In this way we realize a sense of harmony and balance. Yoga is a self- paced practice that anyone at any age can learn.

A typical class is 1 ½ hours long and includes the following:

  • A Calming Centering warm up with breathing techniques.
  • Sun Salutations and flowing Asana or Postures while standing.
  • Stretch and Release movements and postures on the mat
  • Shavasana,Restoration/Relaxation,
  • Meditation techniques are sometimes introduced at the beginning and end of practice
  • Some special workshops and classes introduce Yoga and Ayurveda, Marma, Chakras, and Koshas.

Check with your Doctor before attending any exercise class. Wear comfortable loose clothing you can move in. Bring a Water Bottle. Come on an Empty Stomach. Keep silent upon entering or leaving yoga class. Leave shoes at the door please:)Inform instructor of any preexisting condition before the start of class.
